RESURRECTION, aNA-sta-sis, HISte-mi*, 42x (648), Strong’s # 386

THE TEACHING OF RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD

One. LUKE 14:14 (12-14) RESURRECTION AND REWARD. “Because they have not wherewith to recompense you: for you shall be recompensed in the resurrection of the just.” Reward is based on humility, unselfishness, compassion and courtesy; and is given at the time of the resurrection.

Two. Luke 10:35-36 (27-40) RESURRECTION REQUIRES WORTHINESS. “But those accounted worthy to attain to that :age, and the resurrectionfrom the dead, neither marry, nor are married off: 36 for neither can they die any more: for they are equals ofangels; and are God’s sons, being sons of the resurrection.” Worthiness is based on knowledge of God’s Word, faith in God’s power, a break with man’s traditions and conformity to God’s will.

Three. John 11:24-25 (17-44) RESURRECTION AND JESUS (Inseparable). “Martha says to him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrectionat the last day. 25:Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection, and the life: who believes unto me shall live, even if he die.” Jesus is the resurrection, the life and releases resurrection life by His Word. To be in Jesus ensures personal resurrection.

Four. ROM 1:4 (1-7) RESURRECTION: THE DETERMINING FACTOR OF JESUS’ SONSHIP. “Determined as the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by theresurrection of the dead: even Jesus Christ our :Lord.” God brought Jesus from David’s seed, appointed Him the Son of God with power, did this by the spirit of holiness, and effected this by the resurrection of Jesus from the dead!

Five. ROM 6:5 (1-11) RESURRECTION: PICTURED IN BAPTISM. “For if we have become like-natured with him in the likeness of his :death, we shall yet be also in the likeness of the resurrection.” Resurrection of Christ was accomplished through the glory of the Father, is a pledge of our resurrection, demands holiness and death to self, and obtains this holiness through Christ’s life.

Six. Phili. 3:10 (4b-16) RESURRECTION AND POWER. “That I may know him, and the power of his :resurrection, and fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his :death.” Paul’s goal: experience knowledge of Christ, His resurrection power, Christ’s sufferings, and be conformed to Christ’s death.

Seven. REV 20:5 (4-6) RESURRECTION OF THE JUST AND UNJUST. “The rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This isthe first :resurrection.” The first resurrection is at the last day, is called blessed, overcomes death, and leads into rulership. The second resurrection is unto shame and contempt (Daniel 12:2)

Strive to be found in the first resurrection. Strive to walk in its power in this life.
